Coastal Carolina Student Fatally Struck While Crossing The Street
Date: February, 2010Location: University Blvd. & Chantecleer Blvd., Conway South Carolina
Type: Pedestrian Accident, Motor Vehicle & Pedestrian Accident
Nineteen year old, Michelle Heather Meade, a Coastal Carolina student from Lexington, South Carolina, was fatally struck by a left-turning vehicle while she was crossing University Boulevard on Tuesday. The driver that hit the teen told officers he was turning left from Chantecleer Drive on the University Boulevard, and didn't see Meade walking across the stree. The driver, twenty two year old Michael Poston, said he heard a thump and saw the girl lying on the road behind his truck. According to reports, EMS transported Meade to Conway Medical Center, and later to MUSC, where she died.
