Horry County Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident
November 11, 2010 - A man from Longs was killed over the weekend when he lost control of his vehicle while driving in Horry County. According to Carolina Live, the accident victim crashed his car shortly after 1:30 a.m. in the early hours of Saturday morning.
South Carolina State Troopers responded to the scene, and their report indicates that the victim was driving on Dogwood Road when he lost control of his car near the intersection of Dogwood and Highway 90. His car veered onto the side of the road before crashing into a brick wall.
First responders attempted to revive the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The Horry County Coroner has identified the victim as a 45-year-old man from Longs. Deputies say the victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
No other vehicles were involved in this fatal crash, so no additional injuries were reported. Funeral details have not been released. More information about this accident will be added if and when it becomes available.
