Rollover Crash Kills One in Horry County
November 5, 2010 - A young man who used to play baseball for Loris High School died last week in a rollover accident. According to a report at The Sun News, the victim was well known in the community for his starring role on the high school's baseball team. The 20-year-old man was originally from Horry County and was killed near his childhood home. The accident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. last Sunday.
Police say the victim was driving a Ford Mustang near Loris when he lost control of the vehicle while going around a curve on S.C. 66. The car veered to the side of the road, where it rolled over several times. First responders found the Mustang upside down on the side of the road. It was not immediately known if the victim died at the scene or if he was transported to a local hospital, but police say he suffered major personal injuries, including a head injury. Reports also indicate that the victim was wearing his seat belt at the time of the car accident.
No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported. According to the victim's Facebook page, he was attending Coastal Carolina University and was due to graduate in 2012.
