Tennesse Teacher's Car Rammed For Having Obama Bumper Sticker

The political atmosphere is distressed around the country. The unrest hit home for one Tennessee school teacher, when his car was rammed because he had a Obama/Biden campaign sticker on the bumper.

The school teacher, Mark Duren was on his way home after picking up his 10-year old daughter from school, when an SUV pulled up behind his Toyota Camry. Duren reported that the man, later identified as Harry Weisiger, also of Tennessee, began honking and making obscene gestures, while pointing at the campaign sticker. Duren said, "I raised my hands palms up and shrugged. He then eased up behind my car so I could only see the grille of his SUV and blew his car horn, nonstop."

Duren drove home, while Weisiger followed and continued to honk and make gestures at the bumper sticker. Weisiger then accelerated and rammed into Duren's bumper. Once was not enough, and Weisiger rammed the car several more times, before giving up and leaving the scene. Duren called 911 and tried to calm his daughter.

A neighbor followed Weisiger to a grocery store, where police apprehended him. When ask how much he had to drink, Weisiger responded, "Not much." Weisiger's acquaintances described him as a father of four who has no history of violence. Patrick Parker, spokesman for Hardaway Construction Corp., where Weisiger retired from, said, "He was just a loyal employee, with no previous incidents of any sort like the one being described...You never know, I guess."

Weisiger was charged with reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, and refusing to take a field sobriety test.
