What is the statute of limitations for filing a lawsuit for an accident in South Carolina?
A: Generally, you will have three years to file a lawsuit in South Carolina for a personal injury action (car accident, pedestrian accident, wrongful death, dog bite, etc.) However, there are certain cases where the statute of limitations is less than three years, so it is very important that neither you nor your lawyer wait until the last hour to address the issue of whether or not to file a lawsuit for your case.
