10-Year Old Aiken Boy Killed in Car Accident

A 10-year old Aiken boy, Zyon Curtis, was killed in a Sunday morning car accident on Highway 261 in Sumter County. The accident occured shortly before 11:00am, after the boy's father, George Curtis, swerved to avoid an animal. The Chevy Blazer flipped numerous times before landing upright in the roadway.
The boy was taken to a Kershaw County hospital where he later died. An 18-year old fellow passenger was airlifted to Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia. All occupants were reportedly wearing seatbelts.
