25 Year Old Cyclist Killed In West Ashley

Twenty five year old Yury Babenko was killed on Friday while riding his bicycle along Old Towne Road in West Ashley. Mr. Babenko was from Russia and residing in West Ashley.
The accident occured at 1325 Old Towne Road in West Ashley at approximately 10:40 pm on May 20, 2011. The victim was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina where he later died.
Charleston Police Department spokesman Charles Francis identified the driver of the vehicle as Steven Keuhner. Keuhner left the scene of the accident and was later found on Folly Road and was charged with felony DUI.
