7 Injured, 2 Killed in 5 Car Accident

A man and child died Saturday night after being involved in a 5 car accident on I-26 about 5 miles north of Orangeburg, SC. The accident took place near mile marker 142 at approximately 10:20pm.
The 5 vehicles were traveling eastbound on I-26, when one car hit a van towing an empty trailer from behind. The initial accident set off a chain-reaction involving 5 separate collisions that ended with 2 dead.
Five-year old, Isaiah Johnson and 56-year old Victor Felder of St. George died at the scene from injuries. Seven others, at least one of which was also an child, were taken to the hospital for treatment. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
