Tragic Automobile Accident Kills Two, Driver and Eight Others Survive

On Wednesday, August 4, 2010, a family road trip turned catastrophic when a van holding eleven relatives veered off the road and rolled over several times on Interstate 95 in South Carolina, near Orangeburg. One couple was killed when they were ejected from the vehicle. The driver, a 31-year-old relative, survived.
Unfortunately this family is far from alone. So far this year 444 people have been killed in automobile accidents in South Carolina.
Often people are killed as a result of their own actions. But what if the victim was simply a passenger? In this case, the family of the deceased can file a civil action against the at-fault driver, known as wrongful death.
