Cowpens Man Charged With DUI Involved In Wreck That Critically Injured Bicyclist

Early Thursday at around 12:20am, Michael Alan Woitowitz, 53, was involved in an accident that left an 18-year-old boy critically injured.
Woitowitz was driving north on Highway 29 when he collided into the back of David William Molina, of Spartanburg, who was also heading northbound.
It was reported that Molina was wearing a helmet and Woitowitz was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Molina was taken to a hospital where he is listed in critical condition and Woitowitz did not sustain any injuries in the accident.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol has charged Woitowitz with felony driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury. He is currently at the Spartanburg County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
