Deadly Tractor Trailor Accident in Lodge, Colleton County

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate a motor vehicle crash that left three dead and six others injured on Wednesday. The accident happened Wednesday morning, around 7:00 am, and involved a van and an 18-wheeler tractor trailer truck. the accident happened in Colleton County, near the small community of Lodge.
Mr. Barry McRoy, with Colleton County Fire and Rescue, said that four people involved in the accident remain in critical condition, and three were air lifted to local hospitals. According to reports, the tractor trailer was loaded with wood chips, and flipped over. Injuries to the truck driver include a broken leg.
