Environmental Truck Flips and Crashes in Horry County, One Injured

An environmental (septic) truck was involved in a single-vehicle accident in Horry County on Friday, August 20, 2010. The 14-wheeler was traveling on Highway 917 in Horry County when the driver lost control due to a tire blowout.
South Carolina Highway Patrol said that the driver was transported to the hospital and his condition has not been released. The truck belongs to Herr Environmental Incorporated, a septic and environmental service, based outside of South Carolina in Oconomowoc, WI.
Equipment problems on large trucks contribute to 10% of wrecks involving these trucks. Other primary factors in trucking accidents include the truck driver (87%) and outside environment (3%).
