Fatal Wreck Kills Woman In Colleton County

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that occured in Colleton County at approximately 8:10 am near the intersection of Cayce Road and Willow Swamp Road. According to officials, a woman driving a 1997 Ford Expedition was ejected from her vehicle when she ran off the roadway, striking a ditch and overturned into several trees.
There were 4 children; ages 1,5,6 and 8 in the vehicle that were not wearing seatbelts. Colleton County Coroner, Richard Harvey states that the victim; whose name has yet to be released pending notification of next of kin died as a result of the accident. The children were all conscious and appeared stable after the accident were taken to Colleton County Hospital.
