Gaston Man Killed After Leaving His Car To Check on Another Driver

Both southbound lanes of Interstate 77 were closed down early Wednesday morning due to a 6 car accident.
The multiple car accident involved 6 cars and happened around 12:03 am approximately one mile south from Bluff Road according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The Richland County Coroner stated that Allen V. Garner, 34 of Gaston had gotten out of his vehicle that had been rearended in the accident to check on another driver when he was struck and killed by oncoming traffic.
The accident is currently under investigation.
