Man Arrested After Hit & Run Involving Serious Injuries in West Ashley

Mr. Ray Ray Gates, 21, of Hollywood South Carolina, was driving near Hughes Road in West Ashley Tuesday morning when a utility trailer, attached to his SUV, cam loose. The trailer propelled across the median, striking a van and a car that were traveling in the oncoming lane. Two women, one 89 and one in her 60's were taken to MUSC with serious injuries. Gates, who told reporters he was "scared," stopped briefly after causing the accident, then drove away. He was arrested and charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injuries.
