Columbia, S.C. - A search is currently under way for a vehicle that may be involved in an accident that killed a Columbia man on Saturday, January 7th on I-20.
Fifty-four-year-old Norris Scott was travelling west on I-20 in a GMC Yukon that was driven by his wife, Cathy Norris, when the accident occurred. Cathy Scott, 51, was attempting to avoid a white sedan that pulled into her lane, which caused her to swerve and her vehicle to flip over. The white sedan was allegedly speeding prior to the accident. South Carolina Highway Patrol is still looking for this vehicle.
Norris Scott was thrown from the vehicle, resulting in severe injuries that did not allow him to survive. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.

Man Killed in Columbia I-20 Accident

Kathy Scott and another passenger in her vehicle, 51-year-old Carol Browder, were wearing seatbelts and were taken to Palmetto Richland Hospital to be treated for minor injuries sustained in the accident.
Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to notify the South Carolina Highway Patrol as soon as possible.
