Pedestrian Killed and Boy Injured in Pickens Crash

Pickens, S.C.- Michael Cummings was killed and his 12-year-old son, who was riding his bicycle, was injured along Ponder Cemetery Road in Pickens, South Carolina.
On the night of Friday, October 7th, Julie Hammond was driving a Ford Explorer when she hit Cummings and his son. Cummings was pronounced dead at the scene and his son was taken to a nearby hospital.
The boy was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and his condition is currently unknown.The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident by reconstructing the scene of the incident.
