South Carolina Man Loses Arm At BMW Plant

A construction accident at the BMW plant in Greer, South Carolina leaves one man without an arm. Bobby Hitt, a BMW spokesman, says the employee was driving a piece of construction equipment, similar to a forklift, when he passed through a doorway, his arm was struck by a beam and was severed.
The media is reporting that the arm was severed between the wrist and elbow. The man, whose name has not been released, was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital in hopes that doctors may be able to reatch his arm.
The state and BMW are investigating the accident.
