Superintendent of Education Candidate Involved In Hit-And-Run

The candidate for State Superintendent of Education, Kelly Payne, was involved in a hit-an-run accident on Saturday. The accident happened around 3:45 p.m. on SC Highway 210 in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Payne and her two passengers were traveling along Highway 176, when they turned left on to SC Highway 210. Right after they turned, a Honda station wagon side-swiped their car on the driver's side. Payne suffered minor injuries and she says that a passenger in the Honda was also injured.
S.C. Highway Patrol say the Honda's driver fled the scene on foot. The accident is being investigated. If you have any information, please call 803-596-9621.
