Teen Killed in I-77 AccidentPosted on Apr 02, 2012
At around 4:15pm, an SUV carrying four teens was travelling on I-77 near Coltharp and Gold Hill Road when the accident happened. While attempting to change lanes, the driver of the vehicle lost control, causing the SUV to overturn. Sixteen-year-old Thomas Luciano, of Charlotte, was thrown from the vehicle and did not survive the incident. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
The driver of the SUV, as well as the two additional passengers, were taken to Carolinas Medical Center. It is unknown what injuries they sustained in the accident.
