Two Injured in Hwy 64 Wreck in Colleton County

Colleton, S.C. - Two people were taken to MUSC after an accident on Highway 64, outside of Walterboro, on Monday, February 13th.
It was reported that around 6:30pm, a white pickup crossed the center line, causing a Jeep Wrangler to collide with a Toyota SUV.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol stated that the driver of the jeep, Rufus Neville of Mount Pleasant, was unable to maintain control of his vehicle after the truck, pulling a wooden trailer, crossed into his lane. This caused Neville to hit Karen Thiesen-Avant in her SUV.
Neville and Thiese-Avant were cut out of their vehicles and both were taken to MUSC to be treated for injuries sustained in the accident.
Both sides of Highway 64 were shut down after the accident for about and hour while the scene was being cleared.
Investigators are currently looking for the driver of the white pickup who caused the accident.
