Laurens County, S.C. – One person was killed and two others were injured in an accident on U.S. 66 near Clinton on Sunday, April 8th, 2012.
At around 5:30pm, a 2004 Dodge and a 1996 Chevy Pickup truck collided on U.S. 66, killing the passenger of the Dodge, 36-year-old Loree Butler.
The driver of the Dodge was taken by helicopter to Greenville Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the accident.
The Chevy pickup truck driver was charged with felony driving under the influence and was also transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital. It is unknown what condition he is currently in.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
