Tragedy strikes the family of a Rock Hill middle school student. Ronald Moore, a student at Sullivan Middle School, died Tuesday morning after he was hit by an SUV while crossing the road.
The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Mount Gallant Road near the intersection of Cherry Road. The fourteen-year old was crossing the road where there was no crosswalk when an SUV struck him.
Moore was transported to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment, but later died from his injuries.
The driver of the SUV will not be charged because he did not contribute to the accident. The SUV was actually traveling below the posted 35 mph speed limit.
