Myrtle Beach, S.C. – One girl was killed and others were injured in an accident on Highway 501 on Saturday, March 31st in Myrtle Beach.
At around 1:00pm, a tractor trailer was driving north on Highway 501 in front of the Tanger Outlets when it failed to stop in time at an intersection, causing the tractor trailer to rear-end a Land Rover, which then collided with a minivan.
Four-year-old Jada Bennett of Myrtle Beach, the passenger in the Land Rover, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of a head injury.
Four people who were involved in the accident were taken to local hospitals including another child who had to be transported by helicopter to MUSC. The three adults experienced significant injuries and were taken by ambulance Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed yet by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
