Lexington, S.C. – A ten-year-old girl and her seven-year-old brother were killed in an accident when the car that they were travelling in was hit by a man who was driving under the influence.
Haley and Cameron Upchurch were in their grandparents’ vehicle coming home from church with their nine-year-old sister on October 28th when the accident happened.
Robert Craft, 37, was intoxicated when he hit the car of Haley and Cameron on South Lake Dr. as their vehicle was turning into a private driveway.
Cameron died shorty after the accident and Haley passed away Monday night at Palmetto Richland Hospital. The third child survived the incident and their grandparents,Wayne and Teena Rabon, were injured, but have been released from the hospital since the accident.
Craft has been denied bond and been charged with two counts of felony DUI involving death. He was also charged for having an open container of alcohol in his car.
