For many, playing football on Thanksgiving Day is a family tradition. I know for my family, the annual Thanksgiving football game usually begins as “tag” and quickly turns to “tackle.” After stuffing ourselves with turkey and fixings, many of us head outside and throw the football.
For one young boy, a recent game of backyard football led to a giant wild deer tackle, literally. While throwing the ball with friends, Brandon ran to retrieve an overthrown football that had rolled down a wooded hitt. When he got to the ball, an angry deer pummeled the boy. Lucky for Brandon, his friend, grabbed a stick and began hitting the deer repeatedly until the deer backed down and his friend was able to get away. Brandon only suffered minor bruising and will have an amazing story to tell about being tackled by a deer, one very brave friend.
