Around 4:00 am Wednesday morning, two tractor trailers were involved in an accident that shut down lanes on I-26 eastbound. Allegedly, one of the tractor trailers was slowing down because it was entering a construction zone and the other failed to slow down as well and rear-ended him.
The trucks were heading to the peppermill with wood chips. The roadway is currently being cleared of the resulting debris from the accident and is expected to have lanes shut down for a couple of hours.
According to the South Carolina Highway patrol, both of the drivers, Samuel Rose of Charleston and Robbie Clark of Summerville, have been transported to MUSC.The extent of their injuries is unkown at this time.
