NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Communters encountered quite the traffic jam after a three car accident occurred on I-26 E at the Cosgrove Avenue exit.
According to Senior Trooper Bridget Wyant, a Charleston County Sherrif’s Office deputy driving an unmarked cruiser and a Kia SUV were slowing down for traffic when the Kia was hit from behind by a Chevrolet SUV, thus causing a chain reaction.
The drivers of the Kia and Chevrolet SUVs were transported to nearby hospitals. Their injuries were minor. The deputy was not harmed.
Two lanes of the road were closed for over an hour.
