Columbia, S.C. – At the South Carolina State Fair, six people were injured on the night of Wednesday, October 12th, while riding one of the rides.
The fair’s general manager, Gary Goodman, reported that the accident happened when a piece of metal flew off the Banzai ride and hit several people.
The people on the ride suffered minor injuries, including bumps, bruises, and cuts. They were all treated at the first aid stand at the fair and then released.
The ride is currently not in use and will only re-open once state inspectors have deemed it safe to ride.
