Mt. Pleasant, S.C. – On Monday, November 15th, a construction worker was hit by a drunk driver on Highway 17 in Mt. Pleasant.
At around 3:30 a.m., Daniel Hamrick was driving his truck through a construction zone near the entrance to the Park West subdivision when he hit a worker who was laying asphalt. The contstruction worker was taken to a hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries.
Hambrick was arrested by Mount Pleasant Police when he was unable to pass several field sobriety tests. He has a history of DUI charges with an arrest and conviction in 2002 and an arrest in 2006. Hamrick will be facing felony DUI charges for this incident.
