Timmonsville, S.C. – A school bus was involved in an accident with an 18-wheeler while traveling on Highway 76 on the morning of Monday, January 9th.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that the accident occurred at around 6:45am at the intersection of Tolson Rd. and Highway 76.
As a result of the accident, 7 students and the driver of the bus suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital in the area for treatment.
The driver of the school bus, from Darlington County District, has been charged with failing to yield to the right of way. Additional causes of the accident were heavy fog and darkness.
The accident is still currently under investigation.
