James Island, S.C. – Two men were killed in a head-on accident that involved multiple cars on Folly Road on Sunday, March 18th, 2012.
Joshua Miller, 33, of Folly Beach, was driving away from Folly Beach when the accident happened. He died as a result of blunt force trauma. Miller was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
James Minchew, 75, of Folly Beach, also did not survive the accident. Minchew was driving toward Folly Beach and was not wearing his seat bely. He died due to blunt force trauma.
It was reported that the accident took place between Bowen’s Island and Sol Legaree Road. The incident started with a head-on collision and involved four vehicles.
Folly Beach Public Safety officials also stated that six other people were taken to local hospitals, including several toddlers.
The accident caused Folly Road to be shut down for three hours.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
