Gaffney, S.C. – A Gaffney man has been charged with assault and battery with intent to kill after a confrontation with a teen who he wanted to give a “piece of his mind.”
Kenneth Gerald Butler, 74, became angered when the teen’s vehicle passed him and a passenger in the vehicle made an obscene gesture. Butler then followed the car to let them know how mad he was.
The 17-year-old who was driving the car, was exiting his vehicle to ask Butler why he was following him, when Butler hit him and pinned him between their cars. It was reported that Butler claimed that he tried to avoid hitting the teen, but he could not turn in time.
The name of the teen victim has not yet been released.
