Fort Mill, S.C. – A three-car accident on Interstate 77 in Rock Hill on the morning of December 14th left one man dead and others injured.
Seventy-eight-year-old Louis Agurs was driving a friend to work in his minivan when he was hit by a car after that car was struck by a different minivan. It was reported that Brad Birmele, 36, was driving the minivan that hit 29-year-old Natasha Simpson’s Toyota. The Toyota then swerved and hit Agurs’ minivan. This caused his vehicle to spin around and run up a concrete median under the Sutton Road overpass. The Toyota ran up an embankment and collided with a bridge support, landing on its side.
Simpson was extracted from the vehicle and airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Her condition is unknown at this time. Birmele was not injured in the accident.
Agurs’ passenger, 24-year-old Timothy Campbell, was taken to the hospital, but has since been released.
No charges have been made in relation to the incident and the accident is still under investigation.
