North Charleston, S.C. – Fair Havens Manor, an assisted living group home in North Charleston, has been shut down after police arrested its director on the morning of April 12th, 2012.
At around 9:00am, North Charleston police raided the assisted living home for the elderly and disabled in order to arrest the Fair Havens Manor director, Andrea Magwood. It was reported that Magwood neglected the residents of the home, causing them to experience bodily harm in relation to an incident that occurred on April 5th. Magwood had been previously arrested in 2004 while working at Fairhavens Manor.
Ten of the residents were transported by a MUSC Health van to be medically evaluated.
No other details relating to the incident have been released.
