Charleston, S.C. – A teen is being charged after driving into a James Island home’s garage on Tuesday, May 8th.
At around 2:00am, Charles Devin Jorudd, 18, was traveling in a Buick LaCrosse at 85 miles per hour on Quail Drive when he crashed into the garage. He then fled the scene of the accident.
Jorudd’s mother came to the scene and reported to authorities that her son was responsible for the damage.
The teen violated the terms of his beginners permit and was charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. Jorudd is currently being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
There were two minors in the vehicle with Jorudd at the time of the accident. They sustained monor injuries and were not charged in relation to the accident.
