Richland County, S.C. – A pick-up truck rear-ended a school bus on the morning of Monday, February 27th, causing three middle school students to be taken to the hospital.
At around 7:45am, at the intersection of Quails Hills Drive and Bitternut Drive near Horrell Hill, the school bus was picking up some students on the way to Hopkins Middle School when it was rear-ended by the truck. There were nine students and a driver on the school bus at the time of the accident.
Three students were taken to Palmetto Health Richland as a result of neck, shoulder, or head pain.
The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries in the accident and was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
