Pickens County, S.C. – A driver caused an accident in Pickens County when she crashed into an 18-wheeler and another vehicle while driving the wrong way on U.S. 123 on Monday, May 7th.
At around 3:30pm, Judith Parham, 61, of Six Mile, was traveling in her Mercedes-Benz in the wrong direction on U.S. 123 near Liberty when she collided with a Peterbilt truck and then a Kia.
Parham and the driver of the Kia, 58-year-old Runette Brown, were trapped in their vehicles and had to be extracted by EMS. They were transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Parham was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Lemuel Evatt, the 58-year-old driver of the truck, did not sustain any injuries in the accident.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
