Junior Hopkins’s family and friends are celebrating his recovery after a near fatal motorcycle accident. Hopkins was severely injured in a motorcycle crash on May 25th, and spent over 2 months recovering at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia and at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. Unfortunately insurance is not covering all of his medical bills. Still, Junior is glad to be home and has returned to work. Hopkins hopes that next spring he will be able to return to coaching little league, a passion of his for over 40 years.
Unfortunately, another motorcycle rider met an untimely fate on South Carolina roads. Richard Wayne Beckham, a 56-year old motorcyclist, and an SUV collided on Sunday, August 15th just outside of Columbia. Beckham sustained injuries in the accident and was transported to Palmetto Health Richland, where he later died. The driver of the SUV, Emmaretta Swiggins, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. No charges have been filed and the accident is still under investigation.
Shelly Leeke Law Firm wishes Mr. Hopkins the best in his recovery, and also extends our condolences to the family of Mr. Beckham.
