Family Dollar is working to spread the word about a dangerous toy dart gun that has killed two children to date. Over twenty products that may be worn or used by children were recalled due to safety defects or potential dangers posed to children.
Two deaths linked to the toy gun have been reported, with the cause of death stated as asphyxiation. A 9-year-old boy in Chicago and a 10-year-old boy in Milwaukee both died after inhaling the toy dart into their throats.
Family Dollar is working with officials to spread the word about this dangerous toy.
If a child places the soft, pliable plastic toy dart in his/her mouth, the toy can be inhaled into the throat and prevent the child from breathing.
