Kristen graduated from University of South Carolina – Lancaster in December 2012 with a BLS in Psychology and Criminal Justice and a minor in History. She founded the History Club and interned for the University Archivist where she catalogued and studied the largest collection of Catawba Nation art. She wrote her thesis on criminal recidivism rates among the mentally ill.
At Charleston School of Law Kristen was a member of Women in Law and Children’s Advocacy and Family Law Society. She revived the Haynesworth Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity where she became Chief Justice. She was also the Vice president of Real Estate Law Society and received an award for Outstanding Pro Bono service (100+ hours).
During law school, she worked for the 6th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services, and was selected to participate in a new pilot Charleston School of Law Externship program where she had the opportunity to fly to Pittsburgh with the President of the school for a medical expert deposition.
For 2 years during law school, she also supported herself by working in hospitality.
For fun: She likes to travel, see movies, and go to the beach with her long time boyfriend, Antonio. She has a 10 year old cat, Tink. Kristen loves going home to the upstate, Lancaster, SC, to visit her family and Husky pup, Bella.
