DUI Hit and Run Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured

Chester County, SC - A Gastonia man, driving under the influence, fled the scene of an accident on Thursday, October 6th in Chester County.

At around 3:47 pm, thirty-four year-old Earl Burr was intoxicated while driving along Interstate 77 South when he was involved in an accident.

The other vehicle that was involved in the accident was pushed off the road and hit a tree. Twenty-three-year-old Brennon Lee Conklin, the driver of the other vehicle, did not survive the wreck. Twenty-two-year-old Kimberly Sistare, who was also riding in the vehicle that was forced off of the road, was taken to a hospital where she is being treated for injuries.

After hitting into the median, Burr fled the scene and was later stopped by troopers. Burr, who has a history of alcohol, drug, and hit and run charges, was arrested by troopers and charged for felony DUI and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
