LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. – A motorcyclist died as a result of being involved in a wreck with a special education school bus in Laurens County.
The wreck occured Friday morning on Highway 221 where it was reported at approximately 6:45 a.m. to authorities.
Marsha Kay Gillespie, rider of the 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was headed southbound on Highway 221 when the bus (driving northbound) turned in front of the motorcyclist onto New Prospect Road Church; causing the collision.
Gillespie died of blunt force trauma, according to Laurens County Chief Deputy Coroner Vickie Cheek.
There were four students on the bus when the accident occured.
The wreck is still currently being investigated by the Highway Patrol.
