Samuel Beverly Cooper, Jr. is originally from the LowCountry. Mr. Cooper was born in Charleston the year 1972. However, as the son of a United States Army Chaplin, Samuel was raised abroad from South Carolina. The majority of Samuel’s formative years were spent in the former West Germany. During his childhood, Samuel learned and to this day maintains an appreciation for German language and culture.
After graduating high school in Richmond, Virginia, Mr. Cooper returned to South Carolina to attend Clemson University. In 1994, Mr. Cooper graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science. Later that same year, he began his legal studies with Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of law.
Mr. Cooper completed his J.D in 1997 and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar that same year. He began his legal career as an Assistant Solicitor with South Carolina’s Fourth Judicial Circuit Solicitor. There Mr. Cooper was responsible for the prosecution of lower level felonies.
In 2020 Mr. Cooper was recruited and brought his extensive experience to Shelly Leeke Law Firm. Mr. Cooper serves as the firm’s Administrative Attorney. Mr. Cooper assists in the supervision of the firm’s new associate attorneys, ensures professional compliance, supervises associated litigation, and supports the firm as novel circumstances require.
Mr. Cooper is a former a Board Member to We Are Family which he continues to support. Presently, Mr. Cooper is Board member to Learn-4-Life, a public charter high school missioned with educating and graduating students that are endanger of/or have withdrawn from mainline public high school.
